Speech
By 8 years old, children should have developed all speech sounds. If your child is in high school and is having difficulty with pronunciation whether it be one sound or just general clarity, we can help. It is unknown how a speech disorder will effect a child. It can effect them socially as they can be teased by others; it can effect them emotionally, in terms of their self-esteem; and it can effect their academic performance, interfering with reading, spelling, and oral presentations.
Whilst early intervention is always preferred, there is no reason why speech therapy can’t be effective for your high school aged child.
